Hi, Sorry it took so long to respond, but I was having some difficulty accessing my web page. Seems the server had changed some protocols and failed to notify me. Not cool. But anyway, lets get to your question. There are many factors that can cause this phenomenon and it is not rare, unfortunately. Most of the time is is a physiological problem emanating from your immune system, believe it or not. Your body sees the fetus as a threat and begins to ramp up for a fight. This drives the blood pressure upward. Another problem can be an undetected infection, another can be a simple magnesium deficiency. There are so many things that in and of themselves are not a major problem, although can manifest themselves in other ways as a problem, that it is really hard to tell. I suggest that if you should decide to become pregnant again that you go to a natural health practitioner in your area and see what they have to say. As a matter of course, however, I suggest you might want to begin taking calcium, magnesium and vitamin D. Both calcium and magnesium deficiencies can prompt high blood pressure.
